Title: Chasing the Sky
Rating: R
Warnings: omg. Um, oodles of death, dub/non-con, semi-explicit violence, swearing, unhealthy relationships, implied child abuse. Well, this is an SPN AU about serial killers, so…yeah.
Wordcount: ~12,000
Summary: AU. Round and round the bodies they go, in the game that only ever ends one way. Ironically enough, it’s the only way that Dean ever feels alive.
Notes: Written for the Everlasting Birthday Exchange for [livejournal.com profile] marourin, happy birthday! Er, or something. Original prompt: Castiel Novak is an FBI agent embroiled in a deadly cat and mouse game with a mysterious and charismatic serial killer (Dean Winchester). As the game carries on and Castiel’s obsession grows, the killer might be closer than he ever suspected. Er, while the prompt calls for Cas POV, the only way this fic could be written was through Dean’s, sorry. This is substantially darker than anything I’ve ever written before, and I hope it turns out to be to your liking. (I am not this dark in real life, I swear. *thinks happy thoughts*)

Notes: This is a sort of fusion of ideas from Equilibrium, 1984, and SPN. This stupidly long thing started off with this prompt on the AR/AU fusion: Set in a dystopian society w/a dictatorship/authoritarian kind of government, in which Sam and Dean are part of a resistance movement. Anna is in a high-level government position and decides to rebel and join the resistance. Castiel is part of the team sent to find her and capture her (he is already having doubts about the system he works for and etc). That's the bare bones of the plot, how Cas and Dean get together is up to the writer. I thought it was interesting prompt at that time but figured, meh, don't have time. It wasn't until the Dean/Cas X-mas Exchange that the requester gave me a prompt of 'prison-fic' that I started writing.

Unfortunately, as this turned out to be a LOT longer than expected, I couldn't finish this fic on time and instead wrote this to fill the request. I originally intended for that fic to act as an outline for this one, but um, this fic got a tiny bit out of hand. As a result, Republic of Heaven's not so much as an outline as a...different...fic.

Yeah. Nine months later (started writing this in November, finished it in July), this is the result. *falls over*

Title: Firsts

Author: daymarket

Pairing: Dean/Cas

Rating: PG-13

Notes: AU robot!fic. Sequel to "I, Castiel," which is a fic where angels and demons are robots. Cas is Dean's robot and trying to figure out what the hell it means to be human. Dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] prettybird , who won my help_japan auction and requested more of this! :D Hope you enjoy, bb. There's probably going to be one last part to this story.

Summary: Castiel's not precisely human, but he's not exactly a robot, either. For Dean, the challenge is figure out which parts are which.

“And you, of course, are a paragon of physical perfection,” Cas said. “If you were a bot, I would not choose to modify you either.” )

Secret Angels Exchange:

Title: Filling the Blanks
Pairing: Dean/Cas
Rating: PG
Warnings: Swearing.
Spoilers: Follows S5 up till 5x21, but with a Michael!Dean vs. Samifer version of the Apocalypse instead.
Word Count: 5,720
Notes/Prompts: Prompts used: a relatively nice angst free get together (with side ordering of Missouri) and finding out. Sorry I couldn’t fit Missouri in there, Dropout! This fic almost keeeelled me, but I hope you like the end result!

Summary: He died first, and it was thirty years before Dean followed. Thirty years is a long time, and Sam finds that he has a lot of gaps to fill.

Title: Republic of Heaven
Author: daymarket
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Um. Swearing, I guess?
Spoilers: None.
Wordcount: 3571
Summary: AU. Dean could’ve killed him, but he didn’t. And now he’s left to face the consequences.
Notes: This takes place in an Orwellian-ish verse, with bits of the movie Equilibrium thrown in. (More specifically, the part about having no emotions.) I'm working on a longer version of this fic, but I'm not going to post it until I'm completely finished. So, enjoy this for now, I guess! :D (Also, I swear that I didn't notice at the time that this fic shares a lot of themes with I, Castiel. Freudian slip!)

Sorry for the delay, guys, life has been hell on earth (ha!) recently. Thanks to kundello, who gave me a much-needed kick in the pants.

 Title: Firsts

Author: [livejournal.com profile] daymarket

Rating: PG-13 (eventual R, I think)

Notes: AU robot!fic. Sequel to "I, Castiel," which is a fic where angels and demons are robots. Cas is Dean's robot and trying to figure out what the hell it means to be human. This is a little less philosophical and more fluff, I think. I solemnly swear that the next chapter won't take as long! Promise~

Notes: AU robot!fic. Sequel to "I, Castiel," which is a fic where angels and demons are robots. Cas is Dean's robot and trying to figure out what the hell it means to be human. This is a little less philosophical and more fluff, I think.

Summary: Life after the “operation” was measured in a series of firsts.

The New Cas (the words were capitalized in Dean’s head) was…well…a lot like the old Cas, really. Old Cas had liked to ask questions, and so did New Cas. Old Cas cooked and cleaned like a fiend, and New Cas was no slouch either. There were subtle differences, though, if you knew how to look for them—Old Cas had been remote, a distant observer of humanity. Behind the impassive façade, New Cas was constantly fumbling, trying to make out what exactly he was. )
Chapter Two
daymarket: (Default)
Title: I, Castiel

Author: [livejournal.com profile] daymarket

Pairing: Dean/Cas

Rating: PG-13

Notes: AU robot!fic. Finally completed! *dance of manic joy*

Summary: Dean takes his first steps into the 22nd century with Castiel, his very own programmable robot. He finds himself instead trying to deal with what it means to be human while teaching a stiff, contrary bot the basics of life.

Chapter Five

"The core variable is still the owner.” Ash looked up at Dean, who was rubbing his forehead in frustration. “So, evidently you dig the kind of bot that glares a lot and asks weird questions.” )
